TPN tenant screening
A TPN check before anyone moves in — the applicant consents, the check runs, and the outcome stays with the tenancy.
What a check tells you
TPN is South Africa's rental credit bureau. A check shows how the applicant has paid rent before — the record a bank statement and a reference cannot give you. Mastendi records your decision with it.
Consent first
The applicant consents before the check runs, and the consent is kept with the screening. The online application collects their documents at the same time, so the file is complete before you decide.
Your own TPN membership, or ours
An agency with its own TPN membership can connect it; otherwise screening runs through Mastendi.
From applicant to tenant
An approved applicant becomes a tenant in one step, and the lease follows from there.
Questions
Do I need my own TPN membership?
No. Screening can run through Mastendi. An agency with its own membership can connect it.
Does the applicant have to consent?
Yes. The check does not run without the applicant's recorded consent.
What does a check show?
The applicant's rental payment record and TPN's assessment of them, with Mastendi's record of your decision kept alongside.
